During the course, you will be guided through a number of the most important tools and implements in Revit, so that you will gain an understanding of "Best Practice" when working with Design in Autodesk Revit.

This course gives a thorough and broad introduction to the functions in Revit.
We start setting up a project through the Project Browser and continue with the basic
principles of a database-structured model.


You will learn how buildings are created using database-based objects (Families), how
to adapt and edit existing System Families, and how to create your own Families.
We also work with project phases, Design Options, creating your own title block, sheet
lists, and annotation keys.

  • Revit user interface: Options Bar, toolbars, visibility control
  • Project Browser setup, creating Levels, and View Control
  • Working with Element Properties
  • Using walls, windows, doors, floors, slabs, and roofs
  • Editing and adapting used objects
  • Creating and editing details, sections, and elevations
  • Layout setup, sheet lists, annotation keys, and printing
  • Creating your own Families (Component Families)
  • Project proposals with Design Options
  • Working with Phases and Color Schemes
  • Creating a company-specific title block
  • Schedules (quantity take-o􀆯s) and filters
  • Conceptual Mass sketching and detailed refinement
  • Creating Toposolid and project placement with Shared Coordinates
  • Using and editing materials

After the course you will be able to use many of Revit’s tools to set up standards, extract
data, and streamline your daily design work.

Target Group and prerequisites:

This course is for both beginners and users wanting to move further into advanced functions. You gain insight into key tools in Revit and learn best practice in digital design. You should be comfortable using Windows. A drawing or construction technical background is an advantage.

Revit Architecture is a complete BIM tool and a central part of the digital shift happening
in construction. Competence in Revit is future oriented and adds real value to both companies and
applicants.

This course can help prepare you for roles such as:

  • Architect (building, interior, or landscape)
  • Constructor
  • Technical assistant
  • Engineer

Teaching and Duration:

The course spans 6 weeks and includes 8 teaching days plus 1 workshop day (9 attendance days total).
Throughout the course you will work on projects and assignments with required
submissions.

Teaching days run from 09:00 – 15:30.

Efficient Project Design

The weekly program consists of 37 lessons divided between classroom teaching, online sessions, and assignment work supported through Cadskolen’s learning portal.

On the learning platform you can communicate with instructors and participants and access lesson plans and tests. A laptop is provided during the course.

Who can participate?

The course is open to unemployed participants regardless of educational background and is approved on regional positive lists.

Approval is handled through your local Job Center.

The Cadskolen is an Autodesk Authorized Training Center, which means that our instructors are certified (ACI - Autodesk Certified Instructor) and have industry experience. When you have completed an Autodesk course with us, you will receive a course certificate issued by Autodesk.
